Ebb and Flow hydroponics (a.k.a. Flood and Drain)
systems
uses a tray to hold your plants above a reservoir of
nutrient solution.
The tray holds the
pots filled with growing medium (clay granules, Rockwool, etc.).
At regular intervals, a timer starts the pump so it fills the
tray with the nutrient solution, then drains back down into the
reservoir. This keeps the plant roots regularly drenched with
