Compact fluorescents
have proven themselves to be the perfect light source for seedlings, cuttings and
small plants, achieving healthy compact growth with tight internodal spacing.
Use the
COOL (6500K) bulbs for propagation or during vegetative
stages.
For fruiting or flowering plants, the WARM (2700K) bulbs are very
effective. For plants taller than a foot, regular fluorescent tubes can be
supplemented on the plant sides.
Compact Fluorescent bulb life-expectancy is about 1 year
for horticultural purposes, at which time they should be replaced. They
run on standard 110V current and have the larger Mogul base.
