Neptune's Harvest Kelp Meal is Ascophyllum Nodosum, which is widely recognized as one of the finest marine plants available for agriculture today. Kelp Meal contains vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates enzymes, amino acids and growth hormones necessary for optimum plant growth. Since it is 100% organic, this fertilizer won't burn plants or roots, plus it is environmentally safe!
Kelp Meal is a natural and cost effective enhancement to any soil fertilization and conditioning program. It is suitable for all crops and applications, and can be mixed with most soil conditioners and fertilizers. It can also be incorporated into potting soils, seed and transplant beds, as well as composting material.
Kelp Meal will add organic matter to your soil and help it retain moisture. It enhances healthy root growth to keep your plants and yard healthy and green, even through drought periods. Blooms are more plentiful and longer lasting on flowering plants and fruits, vegetables, and herbs taste better. AND, there is NO offensive odor!
For gardens, till Neptune's Harvest Kelp Meal in as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. For perennial crops, apply at the end of dormancy. Mix thoroughly with the soil or growing media, taking care not to apply in concentrated form directly to the roots. To apply as a soil conditioner for fruit groves, ornamental trees, lawns and turf, apply directly as a top dressing.
Application Rate:
Gardens use 3 lbs per 100 square feet. Row crops use 1 to 2 lbs per 100 square feet. Trees use 1 lb per inch of tree diameter. Best sprinkled around the drip line of the tree on larger trees, or in the hole at planting. Compost booster use 3 to 6 ounces per cubic foot. Lawns / Turf use 10 lbs per 1000 square feet. Potting Soils use 2% of volume by weight - Geraniums like the calcium! Bedding Plants use 1 ounce per tray. Seed Beds use 1 lb per 100 square feet. Bulbs use 1 tablespoon mixed in soil under the bulb.
